Infant/toddler program
HOME TOUCH CHILD CARE Infant/Toddler Daily Schedule under 3 years of age (7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.)
7:30 – 8:30 a.m. – Greet parents and children Routines *(feeding, diapering, sleeping)
Children’s hand washed;
a.m. snack provided to children.
Menu provided to parents weekly.8:30 – 9:30 a.m. – Free choice of activities in play area
9:30 –10:00 a.m. – Circle Time (reading & singing)
10:00-10:30 a.m. – Provider directed activity10:30-11:00 a.m. – Free choice of activities in play area11:00-11:30 a.m. – Art Time – coloring, play dough, cutting painting, etc.
11:30-12:00 a.m. Routines * & clean-up and prep. for lunch12:00-12:30 p.m. – Lunch Time
12:30- 3:00 p.m. – Nap Time
3:00 – 3:30 p.m. – Routines *3:30 – 4:00 p.m. – Outside Play – weather permitting4:00 - 5:30 p.m. - Free choice of activities in play area, as well as provider directed activity. Routines * as needed & clean-up, prepare for pick-up
*Routines- such as diapering, feeding, toileting, sleeping etc., will be flexible based on the needs of each child.
Infant Schedule: We do not have an infant schedule as infants should be fed as they are hungry and put to bed as they are tired. Infants will be talked and played with on their own schedules. We will interact with baby when they are awake and happy by playing with infant toys, talking, reading, and singing to baby. Infants are rotated between cribs, swings, stationary bouncers, rockers, and exercisers to allow maximum viewing of other children playing and areas of room and to provide muscle development. Tummy time is given on floor mats.Toddler/Crawlers – free play will incorporate the following:- Small Muscle Development – jack-in-the-box, nesting cans, shape sort objects, musical instruments, balls, stacking toys bongo drums, tops stacking rings, xylophone, musical rolling pins, water shaker bottle, “open-shut” toys, “empty-fill” toys, rattles, crib mobiles.- Large Muscle Development – push toys, pull toys, riding toys, broom, bongo drums, rhythm instruments, blocks, balls, boxes, buckers, blankets, cardboard boxes, covered foam mats, rubber or soft vehicles with wheels.- Social/Emotional Development – dolls, puppets, broom, iron, pots and pans hats, mop, wagons unbreakable mirrors, board, cloth and vinyl books, texture cans, pictures, blankets, photographs.

7:30 – 8:30 a.m. – Greet parents and children- Free play prior to a.m. snack.-Children’s hand washed and a.m. snack provided. Menu provided to parents weekly.8:30 – 9:30 a.m. – Free Play9:30 –10:00 a.m. – Circle Time and Singing 10:00-10:30 a.m. – Learning Time10:30-11:00 a.m. – Number/Letter Time11:00-11:30 a.m. – Art Time – coloring, play dough, cutting painting, etc.
11:30-12:00 a.m. – Books/Language Center or Screen Time12:00-12:30 p.m. – Lunch Time12:30-1:00 p.m. – Transition to Nap Time – Music or Story 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. – Nap Time or Quiet Time3:00 – 3:30 p.m. – Snack Time3:30 – 4:30 p.m. – Outside Play – weather permitting
4:30 - 5:30 p.m. - Free Play
Inside Time and Free Play – children are encouraged to use different activity areas for at least 15-20 minutes. The different activity areas are:
Family Living/Dramatic Play – housekeeping, dress-up/dramatic play, kitchen set, toy tools, trains, toy telephone, cash register, dolls, plastic food and dishes, cookware
Books/Language Development – quiet/reading time, puzzles, tape recorder with earphones and books on cassette, peg boards, pillows, puppets Blocks – Lego blocks, block table, road toys with houses and peoples, dinosaurs, horses, wooden blocks, foam blocks Music Rhythm – bin with tape player, musical instruments, music CDs for singing or dancing/movement with streamers, ribbons, scarves Art – includes playdough, coloring, drawing, sorting, painting, shape stencils, vinyl picture stick-on, easel and chalk. Science/Nature – bin with items from nature (laminated pictures, plastic animals, plastic plants, rocks, seasonal items, books on nature and science, magnifying glass, magnets.
Learning Time and Number/Letter Time is changed monthly to co-ordinate with the monthly theme and activity calendarOutdoor Time: play cottage, slide with steps/covered fort, push driving toys, tricycle, kick balls, broomstick horses, balancing boards, bean bags, bubble blowing material, teeter-totter, sidewalk chalk, sand and water table, sand box.
Naptime/Rest: each child is provided their individual two” mat, sheet, and blanket.
